jeffro256 has submitted a new CCS proposal looking to continue working full-time on Carrot development – Monero’s main addressing protocol post-FCMP++ – for 3 months (Q4 2025):
The last quarter we launched the FCMP++ Alpha Stressnet. It has generally been a huge success, showing that the node can handle a reasonable level of FCMP++ stress while still revealing a large swath of improvements to make. [..] In the following quarter, I want to continue on this journey.
Total funding proposed: 96 XMR.
ETA: ~3 months.
Proposed work overview
- Support new unbiased hash-to-point in the Carrot code
- Make some misc code changes to Carrot code to better match the spec
- Research/review/reach consensus/implement scaling changes
- Begin soliciting Carrot core implementation audits
- Help launch FCMP++ Beta Stressnet with consensus / addressing protcol changes
- Solicit help for multisig implementations of Carrot
- Help out with the FCMP++ integration
jeffro256 has contributed 125 merged commits to the Monero core repository, worked on the Seraphis migration project in 2023/2024, and also wrote up the Carrot specification for formal auditing and implementation.
It is worth noting that the dev has recently completed the final milestone for their previous CCS proposal.
